Kelly Cowger serves as the Director of Academic and Student Events

Kelly Cowger serves as the Director of Academic and Student Events at ÃÛÌÒav, where she plays a pivotal role in overseeing a variety of major university events, including the highly anticipated commencement ceremonies. In her position, she ensures that these events run smoothly and create memorable experiences for students and their families. In addition to her event-planning responsibilities, Kelly is an active member of the Staff Senate, where she advocates for the interests of university staff and contributes to discussions that shape the campus community. She also represents ÃÛÌÒav as a member of the Council of University System Staff (CUSS), engaging with peers across the university system to promote best practices and enhance the work environment for all staff.

Recently, Kelly reached an important milestone in her academic journey by earning her Master of Education degree from ÃÛÌÒav in 2025. This achievement reflects her commitment to professional growth and dedication to education. Building on this foundation, she has now begun pursuing her Doctor of Education in Literacy Studies here at ÃÛÌÒav, where she aims to deepen her expertise and contribute to the field of education.

Outside of her professional and academic pursuits, Kelly enjoys a variety of activities that enrich her life. She is an avid reader, often immersed in books that inspire her or broaden her understanding of the world. Kelly also loves spending time outdoors, appreciating nature and the tranquility it brings. One of her greatest joys is doting on her beloved black cat Spooky. Together, they enjoy cozying up with a good book or exploring the great outdoors.
